I'm a stitcher from way back, taught by my Mum, Grandma and Aunt. Now I'm desperately working hard to realise my dream of building a workroom - to create in, of course! But it's also for all my creative bits and pieces which have taken over the house! Need some space for when the grandchildren come to play!
Ernie went to the Quilt show in Melbourne last week and bought home all this bling! More good "stuff", he said. Now he wants me to find a spot for it in my studio! Such a demanding little bear!
I found him with Mr. Big, attempting to fit a block of chocolate in the tin. It wouldn't fit. Their solution? Why to eat some of course!
Here in Victoria, even though it's Winter, we have been having colder than usual weather. Ernie and Mr. Big have decided that despite the fact that they have fur, they are cold little bears.
Their solution? Read their favourite bedtime story then snuggle down under the doona and listen to the rain on the roof.
P.S. Ernie and Mr. Big have been helping me to quilt a new version of "Christmas Song". Pics coming soon.
Ernie Dingle had a fabulous weekend at Sue's Opalescence workshop.
Fabric painting, lace painting, vliesofix painting (yes, vliesofix - it's amazing the effects that can be obtained of you peeloff the painted glue side and iron it on your fabric....), gauze painting, Tyvek play ..... the list goes on!
We played with stencils and stamps.
X-rays were put to great use with Sue's magic cutting machine - it was a bit off-putting to see someone's skeleton on the stencil!
Ernie tried his hand at sewing - poor little bear - he had trouble reaching the foot pedal!
More shots of our experimenting.......
This one will have a mirror placed in the hole eventually.
Now to do more "playing" and maybe a work of art will emerge!
P.S. Off to the quilt and Craft show in a couple of weeks to see if I can "find" anything to add to the quilt!
Joy sent me these photos of her table runner - she has used little bee stitcheries from Little Creatures.
She is a lovely, creative lady who has used the pattern to make more than just a quilt - thanks for sharing with us Joy!
Linda sent me this photo of Birthday Bears. Do you think she likes chocolate cake?
I like the googly eyes! Thanks Linda!
Meet Mr. Big. He's Ernie Dingle's friend.
Ernie complains about him quite a lot - says he's naughty and mischievous, but Ernie is a bit naughty and mischievous at times as well.
Mr. Big went missing a few days ago. He was found in the pantry. Just looking for something to eat, he said!
I have been busy re-making Christmas Song in new fabrics, and the pattern will be released soon as a straight pattern (it was originally a block of the month).
Watch this space for progress.
P.S. Ernie went to a workshop this weekend, and he will post photos soon.
