Easter Monday

We have had the best day today! The family came for lunch, and brought mayhem (and Easter eggs) with them! David is now in the Land of Nod, quite tuckered out after his day of play!
Here is our newest grandson, Josh, just two weeks old, hanging out with his cousin, Archie, above.
Sean discovered the joys of playing with Autumn leaves, after Grandpa shook a branch over his head and caught him by surprise. He soon found that having his hood up stopped them from going down his neck (I think his Uncle Mark had something to do with that! The leaves down his neck, I mean!).
Then he found Grandpa's boots! What a great place for hiding leaves!
We are planning to spend the day in the garden tomorrow, pruning, weeding and a general tidy up - I can't wait for David to put on his boots!
All the menfolk seemed to be competing with each other - who could be the biggest kid! And, of course, Sean loved it!!!!!
Now for (I think) some exciting news! I have found my scanner! (I can hear some of you asking how on Earth a scanner can be misplaced, but if you saw what it was like here before the workroom was finished, you'd understand!)
Remember in my last (or second to last?) blog, I said I'd post some old photos?
Well here they are.
The first two photos (below) are of St. Georges Parish Church, just outside Cardiff. They show the pathway entering the church grounds. We took these photos in 2002.

The next is of the path curving around the corner to the main entrance of the church.
Here you can see my Mum, with her father (Grandpa), walking along the same path towards the church door. Same gravestones in the background. Photo taken in 1946.
Here is the same path, below, closer to the door, and below that is the wedding party after the ceremony, in 1946, standing outside that same doorway.

You can imagine how thrilled I was to visit that beautiful little church!
I hope you have all had a happy Easter! I certainly have!
Liz

Sounds like your Easter was full of fun Liz.
I love those wedding photos and see that little girl in the last one ... she's wearing a coat just like I had when I was four!
Now the time has come ... you okay for Wednesday 4th May?
Warmest Hugs,
