Warburton Quilt-In

We had, once again, a great day at Warburton Golf Club, for the Patchwork Tea House Quilt-In. It's an annual event, with about 190 ladies present, all patchwork, quilting or embroidery fanatics! We take our stitching and lunch, and the golf club ladies supply bottomless teas and coffees, drinks can be had at bar prices, and they even include a lovely afternoon tea! But what I like, is the availability of "real" long black coffee from the bar!
The guest speakers were Brenda Ryan from Thimblestitch, and Pam Spurway from Cottage Garden Threads. Here's Brenda, above, talking about her beautiful embroidery designs.
Pam, above, is the brainchild behind the gorgeous variegated threads that Brenda uses. Brenda's designs all have a beautiful old-fashioned appeal - have a look at her website.
It was a lovely day - lots of catching up with friends, lots of chatter, lots of food, but not much stitching! The day ended with a "show and tell" of quilts. Such talent!
A huge thanks to Marilyn, Annemarie and all the others responsible for putting together such a wonderful day!
Next year, I promise to take more photos - the gardens at the golf club are glorious at this time of the year. But this year I had a lot on my mind - our grandchild is overdue and Mark and Rach were at the hospital all day - but all is well, and hopefully our little grandson will enter the world soon!
Here's a new design - you have to love teddy bears to live in my house!
More rain to come ......
Liz
