It's been a funny sort of week! I was going out for dinner on Tuesday night with my friends Heide and Georgie - Heide is living in Abu Dhabi and has been home for a holiday - due to go back this weekend, hence the farewell dinner! However, the storm struck just as I was about to leave, thought it would be a good idea to stay at home!
Power went off, ominous creaks, cracks and crashes outside, hmmmmmm....... trees down. Then the musical sound of the chain saws began in the distance! (If you live in Mount Evelyn and don't have a chain saw you have to be bonkers.
This one was a beautiful peppercorn which demolished the back fence
That little bit of blue you can see through the gap in the fence is David (below) - he had to take the day off work to clean up. After chopping, cutting, sawing, dragging, lifting and moving we both pulled up stiff and sore the next day.
This one was a lillipilli which the birds and possums loved. It destroyed our neighbour's Hills hoist.
Now we do battle with the insurance companies.
Wish me luck!
