1954

I found this old photo (1954) of my childhood home - it's no longer there. The area behind the house, up the hill, is now covered by "posh" housing and Swansea Road out the front is a four lane divided road!
The flags were strung up for the visit to Lilydale of Queen Elizabeth, in 1954.
Life was so much simpler then!

I've just stumbled upon your blog, and had to reply! What a fantastic photo, and I reckon I know which part of Swansea Rd you are talking about with all the 'posh' houses. I'm from Healesville and drive past there often. Small world!
