New Fabric

I have a bundle of gorgeous new fabrics, just waiting for a new design! Beautiful antique rose & green with a touch of gold. I can't bear to cut into them, they are so "touchy-feely". Is it just me, or does anyone else enjoy "playing" with their fabrics? I mean folding, arranging, sorting by colour, re-folding, feeling and generally just gazing at it? I'm sure Himself thinks I'm slightly dotty! (I keep telling him it's part of the creative process!)
I have a design in mind - it's a secret at the moment!

Welcome to Sean

I've been quiet for the last couple of days - yes, the BIG EVENT has happened! Our little grandson, Sean, was born on Saturday morning - the day he was due! Would you believe it! We have been a tad busy since then, hence the delay in posting this blog! Naturally he is the best grandchild in the whole world. And naturally we are the proudest grandparents in the whole world. And he is the luckiest little boy - having such wonderful parents!

36th Wedding Anniversary - lunch at Cloudehill in the Dandenongs. Here we are with the debris of the meal, photo taken by a lovely lady from the next table. She was out with her girlfriends so I took a group shot for them, and she returned the favour. Don't you meet some lovely people?
Only four days until our grandson is due!!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!

The Countdown

I am reading a book that I can't put down - "The Summer of Secrets" by Martina Reilly. Easy to read but a great story - the sort of book you wish could never end! Set in Ireland, near Dingle, a town we have visited and of which we have very fond memories. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary there, six years ago on Tuesday (I was a child bride!!). We plan to have lunch out on Tuesday, maybe spend the day in the Dandenong Ranges, visit some of the lovely gardens and have lunch somewhere nice. I'll have the mobile on (discreetly so as not to upset other diners!) because ............. the countdown is on!!!! Only six days until our grandson is due!!!!

Yes - Melbourne's famous weather struck again (although, strictly speaking, we do live in the foothills of the Dandenong ranges)!
Snow today, and look at the poor lorikeets! Bedraggled and disgruntled!!!
